Baby Set for Preemie And Newborn


BABY SET “Woven Style Knit Pattern”

Light (3 ply) soft baby acrylic yarn
(Complete Set 15 oz. – 1086 yds. / 420 g – 993 m)
(Blanket and Hat 10 oz. – 724 yds. / 280 g – 662 m)
(Hat, Booties and Mittens 2 oz. - 145 yds. / 56 g – 133 m)
(Sweater 4 oz. - 290 yds. / 112 g – 266 m)
Sweater: Circular Needles U.S. #6 / 4.25 mm
Sleeves and hat: Double pointed Needles U.S. #6 / 4.25 mm
Mittens and Booties: Double pointed Needles U.S. #4 / 3.5 mm
Blanket: Circular Needles U.S. #6 or #7 / 4.25 mm or 4.5 mm
2 stitch holders or pieces of yarn (for sweater)
Tapestry needle
4 buttons 5/8”
*Optional; Crochet Hook U.S. #E / 3.5 mm (If you wish to crochet a single crochet stitches around edges)
 ABBREVIATIONS:
-Increase “inc. 1 st in next st”; knit the stitch as usual, but don’t slip it off the needle. Now knit in the back of the same stitch

HAT BOOTIES AND MITTENS

HAT  

-Cable Cast on very loosely 52 sts (16-20-16).  Join to knit in round.
1-8- Ribs; knit 2 sts, purl 2 sts (8 rounds)
9- PURL 1 round
10-* K25sts, “inc. 1 st in next st”* repeat 1 time = 54 sts

Bind off all sts.
Finishing:
Sew top.  Turn Cuff.  Make 2 tassels

Cable cast on 32 sts. Separate on 3 double pointed needles (14-4-14).  Join to knit in round

Finishing
On wrong side sew the sole seams. Weave in ends.
-Crochet two 12" chains and pass through the ankle eyelets row.
MITTENS  
-Cable Cast on loosely 24 sts (8-8-8).  Join to knit in round.
-Ribs; knit 2 sts, purl 2 sts for 6 rounds.

7-14- Repeat pattern (2 more times)
15-16- repeat 3-4-
17- Purl
18- K2, K2Tog = 18 sts

Cut yarn leaving a tail (4 inches) and thread tail through the remaining stitches, one at a time, and take them off the knitting needle.
Pull tail tight by the inside of the work, turn work on wrong side.  Secure tails by making a knot with the darning needle.  Weave in ends.
SWEATER:

-Slip sleeves 34 sts from holder to 3 double pointed needles (11-12-11)
-Underarm, pick up 2 sts each sides (strings between stitches) (13-12-13) = 38 sts
1-Keep a 4" tail, starting at armpit right side of work facing you, P2Tog through the back loop, Purl until the last 2 sts, P2Tog through the back loop = 36 sts

Material
(For 30”X30”blanket)
2 skeins acrylic baby yarn
You can use any baby yarn 3 or 4 ply and 29"circular size needles 8 to 10.5

Blanket:
Cast on 4 sts
Row 1: Knit 1 row
Row 2: Knit 1 st, Increase 1 st in next st Increase 1 st in next st (see below), Knit 1 st. 
Row 3: Knit 1 row
Row 4: K3, YO (yarn over), Knit to the end of row. *Repeat row 4 until side of blanket measure 30”.
Decrease:

Increase 1 st in next st;  "Knitting in front and back of the same stitch."
1. Insert needle into the front of the stitch.
    Knit the stitch but do not remove it from left needle.
2. Insert right needle into back of the same stitch and knit again.

Acrylic Soft Baby light yarn (3 ply), (420 g / 15 oz., 993 m / 1086 yds.)
Crochet Hook: 4.5 mm (U.S. G)
Yarn needle.
BLANKET 
Size 30”X 30”
INSTRUCTION:
Chain 114
Row #1;
In 3rd ch 2dc *skip 2ch, in next ch; sl1, ch2, 2dc* repeat to the last 3 chains, skip 2 ch, in next ch; sl1, ch3. Turn.
Row #2;
1st block (In the same last sl1, ch3 space) 2dc
2nd and following blocks
*between ch2 and 1st dc space from the previous row, sl1, ch2, 2dc* repeat to the last block, sl1, ch3. Turn.
Repeat Row #2 (until your blanket is square)
Last Row;
(In same sl1 space) ch 2, *between ch2 and 1st dc space from the previous row, sl1, ch2, repeat to the last block* between the 2 dc space from the previous row, sl1.
CRAB STITCH CROCHET BORDER
1st Round:
1st side; ch1, *3sc in ch2 space, repeat* 3sc in corner
Bottom; *3sc in “sl1, ch2, 2dc” space Row #1, repeat* 3sc in corner
2nd side; *3sc in ch2 space, repeat* 3sc in corner
Top; *3sc in ch2 space of Last Row, repeat* 3sc in corner, sl1 in ch1

Without brim

Chain 48 = 15 blocks by row
Row #1;

Hat with brim:

On last row finish by Sl1, cut yarn keeping 10” tail for sew the hat.
Finishing:
Sew back sides hat together, keeping hat folded seam in middle sew top of hat. Turn on right side.
Separate in 2 the balance of yarn and make 2 pompoms
