MATERIAL:
Acrylic Soft Baby light yarn (3 ply), (420 g / 15 oz., 993 m / 1086 yds.)
Crochet Hook: 4.5 mm (U.S. G)
Yarn needle.
BLANKET 
Size 30”X 30”
INSTRUCTION:
Chain 114
Row #1;
In 3rd ch 2dc *skip 2ch, in next ch; sl1, ch2, 2dc* repeat to the last 3 chains, skip 2 ch, in next ch; sl1, ch3. Turn.
Row #2;
1st block (In the same last sl1, ch3 space) 2dc
2nd and following blocks
*between ch2 and 1st dc space from the previous row, sl1, ch2, 2dc* repeat to the last block, sl1, ch3. Turn.
Repeat Row #2 (until your blanket is square)
Last Row;
(In same sl1 space) ch 2, *between ch2 and 1st dc space from the previous row, sl1, ch2, repeat to the last block* between the 2 dc space from the previous row, sl1.
CRAB STITCH CROCHET BORDER
1st Round:
1st side; ch1, *3sc in ch2 space, repeat* 3sc in corner
Bottom; *3sc in “sl1, ch2, 2dc” space Row #1, repeat* 3sc in corner
2nd side; *3sc in ch2 space, repeat* 3sc in corner
Top; *3sc in ch2 space of Last Row, repeat* 3sc in corner, sl1 in ch1
2nd Round:
Ch1, 1hdc in in each sc around, sl1
3rd Round:
Ch1, *Crab Stitch or reverse single crochet, around* sl1.
FINISH.

Repeat Row #2;

1st block (In the same last sl1, ch3 space) 2dc

Without brim

Chain 48 = 15 blocks by row
Row #1;
In 3rd ch 2dc *skip 2ch, in next ch; sl1, ch2, 2dc* repeat to the last 3 chains, skip 2 ch, in next ch; sl1, ch3. Turn.
Row #2;

Hat with brim:

On last row finish by Sl1, cut yarn keeping 10” tail for sew the hat.
Finishing:
Sew back sides hat together, keeping hat folded seam in middle sew top of hat. Turn on right side.
Separate in 2 the balance of yarn and make 2 pompoms

Stitch Explanation: 
-Front Post Double Crochet Stitch: *fpdc*
yarn over your hook; starting from the front, place hook from “front to back to front” around the post of stitch in row below; work as a double crochet. 
-Back Post Double Crochet Stitch: *bpdc*
yarn over your hook; starting from the back,  place hook from “back to front to back” around post of stitch in row below; work as a double crochet. 
-Crab stitch: Crab Stitch or Reverse Single Crochet: 
"Working left to right, insert the hook in the first stitch to the right under the loops exactly the way you usually do a single crochet - difference is in the direction in which you are working the row."
Material: 
-Light (3Ply) Soft Baby Acrylic yarn; 15 oz (420 g) / 1086 yds (993m) 
-Crochet U.S. G-6/4 mm for blanket
-Crochet U.S. F-5/3 mm for hat 
BLANKET
about 26” X 26” (66 cm X 66 cm) finished 
-Chain 100 (24 squares of 4 chains + 2 edges) 
-1dc in 4th chain, 1 dc in all other chain. 
Pattern
1st row: Ch2, (*fpdc* 4 times, *bpdc* 4 times) repeat to the end, 1dc in edge front, turn 
2nd and 3rd rows: repeat 1st row 
4th row: Ch2, (*bpdc* 4 times, *fpdc* 4 times) repeat to the end, 1dc in edge front, turn
5th and 6th rows: repeat 4th row 
-Work in pattern 15 more times (28 squares) 

Crochet Border

1st round:
Chain 2,
2 Half Double Crochet (hdc) in 1st corner edge(3 dhc in the 3 other corners), 
For blanket sides; 1 hdc in edge overlooked each row,
For blanket beginning and end; 1 dhc between each post,
Join with a slip stitch.
2nd round: (crab stitch or reverse single crochet) 
Chain 1
1 reverse single crochet around all sides, join with a slip stitch and fasten off weaving in end.
 

HAT
For 4 to 6 lbs baby

Chain 6, Join into a ring 
Round 1: 12 dc into the ring. Join = 12 dc
Round 2: 2 dc between each dc. Join = 24 dc
Round 3: 2 dc between each dc. Join = 48 dc
Pattern: (Starting directly under)
1st round: ch1 (*fpdc* 3 times, *bpdc* 3 times) repeat to the end (working together the last post of the row and the ch1 of beginning of row), sl1 
2nd round: repeat 1st round
3rd round: ch1 (*bpdc* 3 times, *fpdc* 3 times) repeat to the end (working together the last post of the row and the ch1 of beginning of row), sl1 
4th round: repeat 3rd round
-Work in pattern 2 more times. (6 squares) 
Crochet Border
(crab stitch or reverse single crochet)

Acrylic Soft Baby light yarn (3 ply), (280 g / 5 oz., 662 m / 724 yds.)
Crochet Hook: 4 mm [U.S. G/6].
Yarn needle.
Blanket finished size 26” X 26”
Increasing rows:
Chain 6
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch; turn – 1 block made.
Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, (slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in ch-3 space of previous row in last dc; turn – 2 blocks made.
Row 3: ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row] twice; turn – 3 blocks made.
Row 4: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row]
3 times; turn – 4 blocks made.
Continue in in this manner, increasing 1 block on each row until there are 37 blocks across
Decreasing rows:
Row 37: slip st across first 3 dc, * (slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from *to last ch-3 space; slip st in last space; turn, do NOT make a block in last space – 35 blocks.
Repeat Row 37 for decreasing block pattern and work–1 block remains. Fasten off.

Crochet Border:
With right side facing, in same ch3 space as last slip st; ch 3, 4 dc in same space,*sc in center dc of next block, 5 dc in next ch3 space, repeat* join with a slip st in top of ch3.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Crochet size G
1 removable marker for hat
BLANKET (about 26"X 26"finished)
-Chain 92
-1st row:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn
-2nd row:  Ch1, sc in front loop in each sc across, until last stitch, 1 regular sc (in front & back loop); turn
-Repeat 2nd row for 90 rows.
CROCHET BORDER
(regular sc using “front and back” loops)
1st round:  Turn;  ch1, 2 sc in 1st corner, 1 sc in each stitch around all sides, crocheting 3 sc in each corner, join with a slip stitch
2nd round:  Ch2, 2 dc in 1st corner, 1 dc in each stitch around all sides, crocheting 3 dc in each corner, join with a slip stitch
3rd round: (crab stitch or reverse single crochet) Ch1, 1 reverse single crochet around all sides, join with a slip stitch and fasten off weaving in end.
