2-4 Ply Baby Soft Acrylic yarn
Circular needles #8
Crochet hook size D
Tapestry needle
Double pointed needles #6 for hat.
Instructions
CENTER
{…} = tip to help to follow the pattern
-Cast on 146 stitches (multiple of 12 + 2)
-(wrong side): K1, purl to last stitch, K1
PATTERN:
Row 1: (right side)
K1, *slip 1 stitch as to purl, K2, psso (pass slip stitch over), K3, rep from* to last stitch, K1 = 122 sts
Tip {when you “K3” the middle st is the “YO” made the row before} (this tip will be useful at the second pattern)
Row 2: (wrong side)
K1, P4, YO, *P5, YO, rep from* to last 2 stitches, P1, K1 = 146 sts
Tip {when you “YO” it is between the “psso” made the row before}
Row 3: (right side)
K1, *K3, slip 1stitch as to purl, K2, psso, rep from* to last stitch, K1 = 122 sts

Row 4: (wrong side)

Bind off. DON’T BLOCK.
BORDER
(When done the blanket will not ruffle)

1st  round:
-the 2 knit sides; Single crochet between each row
-corners; 3 single crochet
-on cast on and cast off sides; *1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, skip 1 stitch, repeat*
(96 sts each side)
2nd round:
In back of 1st row single crochet; Double crochet around with 3 double crochet in corner
3rd round:
In back of 2nd row double crochet; *Double crochet three times, single crochet in 2 next. Repeat around.* (If the shell are not in corner, don’t skip the stitch)
Weave all ends.

Finishing:
Cut yarn leaving a tail (8 inches) and thread tail through the remaining stitches, one at a time, and take them off the knitting needle. Pull tail tight by the inside of the work, turn work on wrong side
Secure tails by making a knot with the darning needle. Weave in ends.
