MATERIAL:
4 Ply (Worsted Weight) 100% acrylic
-Strait needles size US#8 / mm#5
-Or Dble Pted Needles US#8 / mm#5
-1 darning needle
INSTRUCTION
(With Strait Needles)
-Cable cast on very loose (OR cast on with bigger size needles) 48 sts
-Ribs (knit 2, Purl 2) for 8 rows
-Stockinette stitches (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for 22 rows
Shape crown
1st row: *Knit 6, Knit 2 tog.* repeat to end of row = 42 sts
2nd row: *Purl 5, Purl 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 36 sts
3rd row: *Knit 4, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 30 sts
4th row: *Purl 3, Purl 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 24 sts
5th row: *Knit 2, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 18 sts
5th row: *Purl 1, Purl 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 12 sts
5th row: *Knit 2 together* repeat to end of row = 6 sts
Finishing
Cut yarn leaving a long end (20 inches). Draw end through the remaining stitches, one at a time, and take them off the knitting needle. Pull tail tight and secure. Using the long tail seam back of hat together. Weave in ends.

-Cable cast on very loose (OR cast on with bigger size needles)
48 stitches (16-16-16)
-Ribs (knit 2, Purl 2) for 8 rows
-Stockinette stitches; Knit 22 rows
Shape crown
1st row: *Knit 6, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 42 sts
2nd row: *Knit 5, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 36 sts
3rd row: *Knit 4, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 30 sts
4th row: *Knit 3, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 24 sts
5th row: *Knit 2, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 18 sts
5th row: *Knit 1, Knit 2 tog* repeat to end of row = 12 sts
5th row: *Knit 2 together* repeat to end of row = 6 sts
Finishing
Cut yarn leaving a 8 inches end. Draw end through the remaining stitches, one at a time, and take them off the knitting needle.Pull tail tight and secure. Weave in ends.
